Seyang Polymer Corporation of South Korea, a country known for its high-tech electronics industry, is entering the liquid crystal polymer (LCP) market.
Seyang Polymer Corporation was founded in 1985 as a technical-support and distribution partner of DuPont. Since 1997 the company has operated its own compounding plants. In 2016, it began commercial LCP production on self-developed production equipment using its own EP emulsion-polymerisation technology, as the only manufacturer from South Korea.
“Seyang LCP perfectly complements our high-performance plastics portfolio. Alongside PEEK and PEI, LCP gives us another non-fluorinated high-performance polymer in addition to our established fluoropolymers PFA, PVDF, FEP, PTFE, ETFE and ECTFE,” explains Volker Kappius, CEO of Delacamp AG.
